Fu*K Perfection

 I have often had a very unique with "Perfection", always seeking it and terrified when I can't achieve it. It would cripple me in my decision making when it came to taking risk on things like starting a business, for example when I always felt like I needed a brick and mortar location to conduct business. I also believed that I needed a state of the art website with all of the bells and whistles before I made a sale. I was listening to a podcast titled The 5AM MIRACLE with Jeff Sanders, which by the way is a really amazing podcast, and his guest was a gentlemen names Jon Acuff who wrote a book titled Finish: The gift of Done where he goes on to discuss how we let perfection or wanting to have a perfect situation stop us from achieving our goals. Reading this book was a life changer for me because I was always wondering what was holding me back from accomplishing some of my larger goals 3 things he discussed that stood out to me was:

1. Let Go of Perfection
2. Cut the Goal in Half
3. Be aware of the "Noble Obtsacle" (I can't do Y until X)

There is much more in the book however the above (3) points really hit home for me because I was struggling with a goal of mine, Podcasting. I read and hear so many people saying you need to have at least (6) episodes ready and have this mic and this editing software which was very intimidating. After reading the book I used the same tools I had been accumulating since the idea seed was planted, reduced the goal and shot for (1) episode, just 1. Low and behold I did it, not only that I did (3) episodes of our Drug Dealers to Businessmen Podcast so far and listed on all media like itunes , stitcher , and more. I stopped looking for perfection because it is literally unattainable and will stop you dead in your tracks. So my parting words to you is tell "Perfection" to go fu*k itself and look for done instead.
