My Marathon: From a Drug Dealer to a Businessmen

My name is Duane Cofield and I started hustling in 1987 in South East San Diego with a $50 double-up on rocks (crack cocaine), like many I kept trying to come up, moving on to ounces and so on. I moved up and pretty much showed all of my homeboys how to hustle, took a few with me on the entire ride. I started to realize that I actually had influence which was my gift and my curse. I had a major responsibility to lead to something better than a prison sentence which is what we all end up getting. In prison I picked up a book in the library called "Live Your Dreams" by Les Brown, and it changed my life, I listened to Mr. Brown's story about how he turned himself into a very wealthy and popular "Public Speaker". The main lesson I got from Mr. Brown was that "when you fall, you should land on your back, because if you can look up you can get up" and I was at my lowest point, but I was alive and soon to be free. Once released I tried to do what many of use do and get right back where I left off, and I was in for a surprise. One of my big homies said it best "Bro you are chasing a ghost, that version of you is gone" and that was my reality check. i checked myself into community college and found out something that I was good at, Marketing. So I pursued Marketing and got a BA degree and my first "real job" which was in radio advertising. I learned so much about businesses, sales and more marketing that I gained the confidence to start my own businesses (Hairlivery.com and Medtoursla.com) and Podcast Drug Dealers to Businessmen Podcast. I am here to show you all how I flipped the switch and used the same skills that took me from the $50 double-up to a 6 figure online business.
